I’ve been starting with warm grounds for many years. In my “Colorado Dreamscapes” series I add texture and color variations in the gesso ground. In this painting, I blocked in with three darker warm colors.
My strokes were bold in the blocking in phase
Fine detail was overplayed in a bold delivery as well.
Many glazing layers yielded a completely different result than what one might expect from such a glowing underpainting.
